Part of our "Handmade By Us" range, this chocolate bar is one for those who like their chocolate dark and spicy. Inspired by Montezuma II, Aztec emperor of Mexico who reportedly drank around 50 golden goblets of his own chocolate elixir every day. Aztec warriors had drinking chocolate as a regular part of their military rations with each receiving ground cacao pressed into wafers, ready to mix into water.
We have combined ours with crushed chilli seeds, cinnamon, ginger and a touch of nutmeg - it is delicious on its own or could be made into a fantastic, warming drinking chocolate if combined with water, sugar (to taste) and cocoa powder.
To make a hot chocolate: Heat 250 ml of water, a tablespoon brown sugar and a heaped teaspoon of cocoa powder in a pan and simmer for three minutes. Break the chocolate into pieces and add to the pan. Blend for one minute ensure a smooth texture. Bring the hot chocolate back to simmer for two minutes and serve immediately, maybe adding a few marshmallows if you want!
Please note this is a handmade and hand sprayed product so the finish may vary very slightly from bar to bar but will still be delicious!
